Illetas information
The very exclusive resort of Illetas is part of the municipal district of Calvia on the south west coast of Majorca. It is a quiet resort that overlooks Palma Bay.
There are two beaches in the area, the Platja d'Illetas and the tiny Platja Cala Comptessa.
This is the area where mainly Spanish residents visit especially during weekends due to the fact that Palma is close by.
It is fairly undiscovered by the holiday makers although one of the prettiests around the island.
Facilities are basic, with parasols , sunbeds and snack bars available at the main beach.
A lot of the hotels are situated on the edge of the sea and have there own private beaches which are for client use only.
Actually the resort is aimed towards the upper bracket of tourism.
It is the resort of smart hotels and expensive cars, that has on more than one occasion been compared to Monte Carlo by both professional travel writers and visitors to the town.
The night life is distinctly different from the regular package tour resorts, mainly consisting of small, exclusive bars and restaurants.
