Cala D'or information
Cala D'or is labelled by many as the Riviera of Mallorca, due to it's cosmopolitan feel over the other resorts.
It is located on the south east coast of the island. By the day, the air breathes relaxing at the marina. At night Cala D'or offers a lively atmosphere due to its numerous bars and restaurants.
Building in Cala d'Or has been restricted so there are very few high buildings. All buildings have been designed to give the feeling of a village, one of the main assets of the resort, with many residential properties nestling between the hotels and tourist areas.
This cultural aesthetic makes Cala D'or one of the best places to visit while being at Mallorca.
The largest beach in the town is at Cala Gran. Near there you will find Cala d'Or itself, from which the resort takes its name. This is a pine fringed cove with a small but crowded beach.
Sun loungers, parasols and pedaloes can be hired at both of these beaches. In addition, there are also around 8 or 9 other smaller sandy coves in the area, although these can become extremely crowded in high season.
Near by places that you should visit include : Castillo de Santueri - a castle near the village of S'Horta, Aquarium de Mallorca, Cuevas del Drach, Vall D'Or Golf a18 hole golf course.
To conclude Cala d'Or is good for families as it's a friendly, clean resort with a numerous beaches and coves and an airport transfer time of between one and a half and two hours.
